ISTG is an independent entity run by surgical trainees. In addition to organising and running specific events, ISTG represents trainees from all subspecialties and levels of surgical training at a variety of committees influencing training.

What are the roles of ISTG?
ISTG is a forum to represent the views of trainees and provide a trainee voice at meetings with key stakeholders in relation to training and non-training issues. The ISTG president sits at the Irish Surgical Postgraduate Training Committee (ISPTC) meeting and the Surgical Affairs Committee meeting at RCSI.
What events does ISTG host?
ISTG organizes trainee events including ISTG Charter Day Meeting, Silver Scalpel Dinner and the Annual Careers Day.
